When shopping for ground beef though, you have a couple of options to consider—the two big factors include the fat percentage and price. Typically the higher the fat percentage, the lower the price. The most common percentages you’ll find are 70% lean, 30% fat; 80% lean, 20% fat; and 90% lean, 10% fat. Now, fat does equal flavor, but there is such a thing as too much fat.
